Harry Belafonte, activist and entertainer, dies at 96

Preacher Kane Sunshine said that Belafonate died of a heart attack in his New York house on Tuesday.

In 1954, he co-contested with Dorothy Dandridge in the music "Carmen Jones" directed by Otto Preminger

His "Calipso", released in 1955, officially became a certified million-celling album by a single artist

Belafonate befriended the king in the spring of 1956, when the youth civil rights leader called and asked for a meeting

By the beginning of the 1960s, he decided to make civil rights his priority.

In 1963, Belafonate was deeply included with the historic march on Washington.

When the king was killed in 1968, Belafonate helped to choose the suit in which he was buried,
